Alexandra Seymour serves as Principal Deputy Assistant National Cyber Director for Policy at the Office of the National Cyber Director (ONCD), where she is the principal staff member responsible for the formulation, coordination, and implementation of national cybersecurity policy.


Previously, Seymour served as Staff Director for the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Protection Subcommittee with the House Homeland Security Committee. She led the Committee’s legislative and oversight priorities on cybersecurity and critical infrastructure protection issues, including spearheading key cyber legislation. Seymour’s tenure on the Hill also included leading policy work on artificial intelligence (AI), CHIPS and Science Act implementation, and quantum issues for the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, and serving as the President and Co-Founder of the Congressional Staff Association on Artificial Intelligence (CSA.ai).


This is Seymour’s second time serving in the Trump Administration. She previously served on the National Security Council staff and at the Pentagon, where she focused on counter-transnational organized crime issues and was the Deputy Secretary of Defense’s speechwriter. During her time at the Pentagon, she was awarded the Secretary of Defense Medal for Outstanding Public Service and the Office of the Secretary of Defense Award for Outstanding Achievement.


In addition to her government service, Seymour researched technology issues with the Technology and National Security program at the Center for a New American Security and was Chief of Staff to the CEO at an AI security startup.


Seymour’s analysis and commentary on technology and cybersecurity issues have appeared in outlets including The Financial Times, War on the Rocks, BBC News, CBS News, USA Today, NewsNation, The Hill, DefenseScoop, The Diplomat, and RealClearPolicy. She holds a B.A. in politics from Washington and Lee University.
