Inaugural Senior Director for Intelligence Office
National Cyber Director (ONCD)

Amir joined the Office of the National Cyber Director (ONCD) as the inaugural Senior Director for Intelligence in August 2022, and has been responsible for integrating intelligence into cyber policymaking, building a common (cyber) operating picture for policymakers across the Executive Office of the President, and, most importantly, informing the National Cyber Directors priorities based on the cyber threat and emerging technology landscape. Amir is also an adjunct professor at Georgetown University where he teaches a masters course on Cyber Threat Intelligence.

Amir spent time in various technical roles within the Intelligence Community and Department of Defense prior to joining ONCD as a detailee from the National Security Agency (NSA). Most recently, Amir served as the Chief of Operations for Cyber Threats within the NSA Cybersecurity Directorate. His responsibilities included managing strategic and tactical operations, disseminating actionable threat intelligence globally, and defending U.S. elections from foreign threats.

His educational achievements include an M.S. in National Security Policy from the National War College (2022) and an M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Johns Hopkins University (2014). Additionally, he holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Akron (2009). Amir has received numerous commendations throughout his career, including the NSA Superior Civilian Service Medal (2022), the National Director of Counterintelligence and Security Award for Excellence and Meritorious Service (2021), Presidential Continuity Team Appreciation Award (2020), National Intelligence Meritorious Unit Citation (2011, 2012, 2015) and the Secretary of Defense Global War on Terrorism Medal (2013)
